Soucy Caoutchouc in Drummondville has received $5 million in funding from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions. As a result, it will be able to significantly increase its production of rubber tracks and track systems for Soucy’s various sectors of activity.
The investment was announced on February 2 in the presence of the Honourable Soraya Martinez Ferrada, Minister of Tourism and Minister responsible for the Economic Development Agency of Canada; Stéphanie Lacoste, mayor of Drummondville; and Jasmin Villeneuve, Chief Operating Officer at Soucy.
More specifically, this investment will be used to manufacture and purchase production equipment such as circular presses, extrusion equipment, and press cells.
A long-term plan for growth
Canada Economic Development’s investment is in line with the financial assistance it granted Soucy Techno last year. Those funds enabled the division to acquire a new mixing line which is currently being implemented. Over time, the new line will enable us to boost our production of rubber and provide Soucy International with raw materials.
An investment that benefits the agricultural and industrial sectors
Our new equipment will allow us to mould a greater number of tracks, thereby meeting the increased demand for our products from the agricultural and industrial sectors. Thanks to our track systems, agricultural producers are able to reduce soil compaction, protect their crops, optimize productivity, and reduce their operating costs.
